Kamioka is a nostalgic town of Japanese olden days. It was a biggerst main town over 50 years ago, so the atmosphere is still remain everywhere.
It has such a cozy local stores. Also it has popular activity "Rail mountain bike Gattan Go!!",so if you have a time, it's a good activity as well. So the town shows local, slow, deep side of country side of Japan. If you prefer Syowa era of Japan, this town like that.

I'll pick you from Takayama for one hour drive.
It has no train.
so you should take a train from Takayama to Furukawa, and then take a bus to Kamioka from Furukawa station.(It's same place, Furukawa train station and bus station.)
We really appreciated Mao’s tour yesterday. She grew up here and knows Takayama inside out. Before we met up with her, we walked around for a hour with a map, but could not connect with the city. Then it all changed after we met her! She was very friendly and enthusiastic. It made us feel a friend is showing us around in Takayama!
Thank you for your review! I really enjoyed with you just like friend. I remember your recommendation and please enjoy your trip in Japan!
Mao is local and very knowledgeable about her city. She was very pleasant and helpful. Her smile was a bonus.
Thank you for joined my tour though the day was cold. I'm glad that you enjoyed my home town! Have a safe trip and enjoy Japan!
A young girl really pleasant and proactive, we had a good time and a relaxed walking tour in interesting spots.
Thank you for your review! I really enjoyed with you and thank you for your lovely gifts! See you next time in Takayama!
My time in Takayama would have been less interesting if I didn’t book a tour with Mao-san. She’s a young and enthusiast guide. She has a surprising sense of humor. She was so kind to listen to my requests and could combine Takayama with a short visit in Furukawa. She gave me good advice on where to eat. Grazie Mao-san!
Arigatou for joined my tour! I enjoyed talking with you too. I hope you don’t get hangover! See you next time!
