The Kamakura Daibutsu , the Great Buddha of Kamakura, is a National Treasure. It is said that casting began in bronze around 1252. The Daibutsu used to be housed in a great hall, which was destroyed by typhoon and a giant tsunami after Kamakura shogunate fell. Ever since, the Daibutsu has continued to meditate in the open air. The principal Buddha statue at Hasedera is an eleven-faced Kannon Bodhsattva, which is believed to have been carved from the same camphor tree as the statue at Hasedera Temple in Nara. My clients enjoyed the tour so muca and I am glad to share their feedback: "Munetaka was the most knowledgeable and experienced guide we had throughout our trip to Japan and very good-humored and conscientious. He took such good care of us, and even got us some special treatment at the Tokyo Sky Tree, which was very crowded, so that my husband, who walks with a cane, would not have to wait in long lines for admission or the elevator. He brought us wonderful snacks and small gifts, including origami figures made for us by his wife. He also knew all of the restaurants in the areas we visited, and when his first choice was too full he quickly found another that we thoroughly enjoyed. He is extremely well-informed about Japanese culture and history." We cannot recommend him more highly!
Dear Viktoria, Pattie and Harlan, Thank you so much for posting such a fabulous review. I am very pleased to know that Pattie and Harlan had a very beautiful time with me. Talking to them was really intriguing and fun. I’m very impressed with their story. I’m grateful for you and their kindness and thoughtfulness, I hope I could meet them again someday. Thank you so much again for having me. Have a wonderful journey continuously and take care. Munetaka
Such a lovely museum tour with Munetaka! Full of smiles and joy. It happened to have been a very rainy day in Hakone but nothing stopped him. We were willing to walk with umbrellas (he had none), walk up a very steep path (and many stairs) to the trolley to the museum (all with a lot of laughter) and made it to the museum, where he told us about his childhood memories there. He was kind and warm and just lovely! Thank you for these valuable memories!
Thank you so much for posting such a heartfelt, warm review. Annabel and Jason, I also had a very beautiful time with you even if in a heavy rain. Talking to you really reminded me to my childhood memories with so much fun. I’m grateful for your kindness and thoughtfulness, I hope I could meet you again. Thank you so much again for having me. Have a wonderful journey continuously! Munetaka
Very kind and generous man. He took us to all the places we wanted and taught us how to use the subway. Thank you!
Thank you very much for your great appreciation which encourages me a lot ! I wish you continue to go on trips all over the world successfully. I will be ready for your future coming to Japan again. Good Luck ! Munetaka
We hired Munetaka as our guide for three consecutive days. The Tokyo excursion was first on the agenda. He was early, organized and eager to start the trip. Munetaka was knowledgeable about Japan history, culture and food. He also put in much effort to secure three tickets to travel to Mt. Fuji at last minute when everything was sold out five weeks ago. Kudo to him and his continued hard work.
Thank you very much for your positive review to me. The pleasure is all mine, I am encouraged very much, have more confidential to do guiding for all people in the world! Let’s enjoy the final day Mt.Fuji together! Munetaka
